Built from found timbers collected by an arborist over a period of 25 years, lovingly constructed into a 32 foot Tahitian Ketch, the Lazy Jack was launched in the Hawkesbury river around 20 years ago. She now joins the Sail 4 Justice to Manus Island with skipper Michael Mandias.
A 20 foot space sailor. A little boat with a big job to do, to fight for justice for First Nations and refugees, for climate justice and demilitarization of the Pacific. Skippered by Lober Wainggai who came to Australia in an outrigger canoe from West Papua and crewed by participants of the 2013 West Papua Freedom Flotilla.
If you have some sailing equipment that you could donate or if you can afford sponsoring some of these items, here is a wishlist of the things that we need to get together.
Windigo was recently acquired by Captain Dave Rainbow of the Maritime Union of Australia – Queensland Branch. This fine vessel is up on the dry and getting ship shape for its up and coming epic mission with Sail4justice. Work has began and after a good lot of barnical removal the hull is looking as good as new! Stay tuned for updates on her renovations.
