You are invited to join and support the flotilla in whatever way you can.
Bring your boat and #Sail4Justice
All vessels on the flotilla are autonomous. The crew of each vessel will decide how far they are willing to go and what actions they partake in. People on each boat are responsible for the maintenance and travel costs of their vessel. We encourage crews to do their own fundraising campaign for the journey. This will help create a following for your journey and for the Sail4Justice flotilla. We encourage crew members to have access to their personal funds for their medical and emergency travel needs. We also encourage each boat to have its own mission statement about why they are joining the flotilla as well as their own website and social media profiles. We are hoping to crowdsource funds for the project to help with communications, security, media and emergencies.
Join the flotilla as crew member
We need people for our journey. If you don’t own a boat but want to sail, you are welcome to come for all or parts of the trip. If you have experience and knowledge about sailing, that’s great, but you don’t have to, if you are happy to try and to learn. Feel free to get in touch and let us know about your situation, capacity and needs. It’s BYO everything, so you will need to have gear that you require, eg. sleeping stuff, wet weather clothing, life jacket, personal medicine and other items, valid travel documents and VISAS, funds for your trip, food etc.
Support the flotilla on land and sea
We are sailing from nipaluna/Hobart and Narrm/Melbourne and leaving Australia from Gimuy/Cairns. We are keen to support your local struggle, campaign or event on the way, so please let us know if you are doing something that we can join in. We welcome friends and accomplices in organising events, concerts, film nights, protests and actions in your city and we welcome any sort of support and help with logistics. If you’r not into sailing, you can join in a land convoy! Exact dates of arrival in each port will vary due to numerous environmental, logistical and political factors. Boats travel at different speeds but we will attempt to re-group at major ports.
We would appreciate your help in fundraising and spreading the word about this campaign, both in Australia and internationally. Here is a Media Promo Pack with our leaflets and logos that can be printed out or added to websites etc.
